Photograph and news of the United Press International reporting on the bombing of Tenancingo, Salvadoran population, during the so-called Civil War of El Salvador (1979 – 1992), in which The United States supplied combat aircraft, bombs and all kinds of weapons to the government of El Salvador. The insurgent guerrillas were supported by the Soviet Union. About 100,000 people died and/or disappeared and about 1 million were displaced/refugees, out of a population of about 6 million people.

SALP092601-9/26/83-Santa Cruz Michapa, El Salvador: Mrs.Elena Carbajal said 9/26 she lost her husband Francisco and three relatives in the bombardment 9/25 of the town of Tenancingo by government warjets. The U.S. supplied planes bombed the town 17 miles northeast of San Salvador when it was attacked by guerrillas. Witnesses said the bombing killed at least 18 civilians and doctors said 31 civilians were wounded. UPI Md/IM
