Set of 4 stamps dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis, maternal and child protection (represented on a single stamp as breastfeeding and growth control, many years before the WHO's GOBI campaign), the Marchoux Institute and the Biology laboratories.
The Marchoux Institute (Emile Marchoux, French bacteriologist, 1862-1942) was the name given in 1945 to the Central West African Leprosy Institute which had been opened 10 years earlier. Since 1978, it has been a WHO collaborating centre for Leprosy and in 2001 it changed its name to the National Centre for Disease Support (CNAM), diversifying its objectives to include all types of priority and emerging diseases (AIDS, Ebola, Dengue, etc.).
