Peter Paul Rubens, Flemish painter (Siegen, 1577 - Antwerp, 1640), leading exponent of the Baroque period. The painting The Holy Family under an apple tree from 1630 is part of the triptych of St. Ildefonso in the Coudenberg Church in Brussels and is in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, Austria.
Two of the stamps in this 1978 Christmas set are used to commemorate the 1979 International Year of the Child.
