Tempera on wood with a gold background by the Sienese painter Paolo di Giovanni Fei (1345 - 1411), which is in the Museo dell'Opera Metropolitana del Duomo in Siena, which houses art objects from the cathedral of Siena.
Giovanni Fei, in the 1370s, painted several "Madonna del latte" two in the Metropolitan museum (MET) in New York and another in the collection of the Barbara Piasecka Johnson Foundation (Princeton and Monte Carlo), the name of the third and last wife of J. Seward Johnson, Sr., son of one of the founders of the Johnson & Johnson empire.
