In Côte d'Ivoire, the Ashanti, as in the rest of Africa and other ethnic groups (Bambara-Bamana (Mali, Senegal), Bamileke, Dogon, Yoruba (Nigeria, Benin), etc.), often depict motherhood in art in the form of women with large breasts suckling, either in carved wood or in lost-wax bronze.
