The baby, at the same time as suckling, stimulates the contralateral breast with his hand by "rolling" the nipple in a movement reminiscent of that used in old-fashioned radio sets to tune in to a radio station. Many babies find that with this manoeuvre more milk comes out of the breast they are suckling from, as the more stimulation there is, the more prolactin is produced and the more milk is produced.
