Oil on panel (93 x 85 cm) by Jean Fouquet (Tours 1420? - 1480?), a French painter influenced by the Flemish Hubert and Jan van Eyck. The painting, dated 1453, is the right side of the Melun diptych. The model for the Virgin is thought to be Agnes Sorel, the mistress of Charles VII. It is on display in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Antwerp (Antwerpen).
