From the 1980s onwards, in addition to the previous colonial acculturation, an effort was made to recover the autochthonous culture on the stamps of Equatorial Guinea.
Las estatuas de maternidad africanas tienen relación con la fertilidad de las mujeres y de la tierra; pertenecen al dominio de lo sagrado y con frecuencia se exponen en un altar. Las madres están en posición hierática, muy bien esculpidas, mientras que el niño, con frecuencia un adulto reducido, está apenas esbozado, sobre todo el cuerpo.
Donation from Dr. Luis Santos Serrano, paediatrician at the Marina Alta hospital in Denia, who was accredited as a Baby Friendly Hospital by the IHAN WHO-UNICEF from 1999 until its closure in 2009.
